Tyler St. Clair - Principal Associate, CCHPO
Tyler St.Clair is a Principal Associate with the Commonwealth Center for High-Performance Organizations, Inc. (CCHPO), which provides management consulting services to federal, state and local governments, non-profit organizations and the private sector. She also serves on the Leadership Development faculty at the University of Cooper Center for Public Service in Charlottesville, Virginia. She has over twenty-five years of experience in assisting organizations and individuals who desire to achieve improvements in their performance.
Before joining the CCHPO Network and UVA’s Weldon Cooper Center for Public Service, Tyler spent eight years in Lynchburg, Virginia city government as an internal consultant providing organization development, strategic planning, team building, and support for a wide variety of organizational re-design, systems improvement, and executive coaching efforts. Tyler specializes in work with elected bodies, in which she helps them develop a vision, values, and strategic targets to sustain successful governance in their communities. She provides high performance development for governments and related agencies, including strategic planning and team building, to enable staff members to successfully link organizational change efforts at all levels of the organization.
Tyler has extensive state government experience in organization development. She served in a series of increasingly responsible management and professional positions over fifteen years with Virginia’s Department of Corrections, including nine years with the Academy for Staff Development in Waynesboro, Virginia, where she managed statewide training programs for top managers and youth services personnel.
Tyler has a Bachelor of Science degree in Social Work from James Madison University. She is certified to administer the Myers Briggs Type Indicator, is a certified mediator, and is trained in the use of the Technology of Participation, Appreciative Inquiry, Graphic Visioning, Training of Trainers, and National Issues Forum Moderation. She has an extensive background in a variety of counseling modalities, clinical supervision in substance abuse counseling, and basic law enforcement training.
