Registration shifted for CCHPO 4th Change Conference In Charleston, SC March 2-4, 2004

 

 

Note:

Registration has been shifted to 6-8 pm Monday evening  in the lobby of the Mills House.  If you don't arrive in time for the 6-8 pm slot, registration will also occur 0730-0800 Tuesday morning in the Hiberian Hall (immediately adjacent to the Mills House) concurrent with breakfast and before the 0800 session.

Join others experiencing the reality of organizational improvement with the HPO Diagnostic/Change Model. This conference brings together managers, improvement sponsors/champions, internal change agents, and the CCHPO consultants in a forum to exchange strategies, skills, and stories.

Conference dates will be March 2-4, 2004 in Charleston, SC at the Mills House Hotel. The conference will be limited to 75 attendees based on hotel meeting room requirements. The conference is hosted by the Centers for High Performance Organization (Charlottesville, Charleston and Saratoga), in conjunction with the Weldon Cooper Center for Public Service from the University of Virginia. The current team of conference chairs include: Phil Harnden, PhD, Keith Ray – NAVAIR Change Agent, Joan Goppelt – NAVAIR Change Agent.

Please note that this is intended to be a working seminar and all participants are expected to participate in the working sessions!

Registration fee is $1175 per person; presenters selected by the conference chairs will receive a 33% discount to $787 (no more than two speaker discounts per topic). For those only able to attend two days, the registration fee will be $850. Groups of 4 or more from the same organization receive a 15% a discount; contact the conference chairs for additional information. Registration fee includes all sessions, three breakfast and lunches, receptions/events with light meals, and materials.

The theme of this year’s conference is the Reality of Organizational Improvement: Today’s New ROI.

HPO CHANGE CONFERENCE March 2-4, 2004 The Mills House Hotel, Charleston, SC JBM & Associates, LLC is pleased to announce that the fourth annual High Performance Organizations Change Conference will be held in a new and exciting location, at The Mills House Hotel, located in historic downtown Charleston, SC.

Registration will begin on Monday afternoon at The Mills House, with the first conference session on Tuesday, March 2 at 8:00 a.m. The conference will end on Thursday March 4th at 5:00 p.m. Time will be available Wednesday afternoon to explore some of the sights of Charleston.

The Conference is intended for two key audiences:

  • Executives and top managers who are sponsors of their organizations change efforts.
  • Agents who are serving as internal organizational development change agents and/or HPO instructors/facilitators.

Participating Organizations will need to be prepared with the following:

  • Detailed view of high performance work
  • Shared thoughts in various working sessions.

Accommodations: The Mills House Hotel is located in the Historic District on the Charleston Peninsula, at ll5 Meeting Street near Queen Street. It is approximately l0 miles from the airport and easily accessible by car or taxi. While you may want to rent a car, Charleston’s legendary restaurants and historic homes are located just outside the hotel, and parking at the hotel is an additional charge. The hotel offers over 200 rooms, restaurant, lounge, and swimming pool and concierge service.

Hotel reservations can be made by calling 1-800-874-9600. Make sure to mention that you are attending the HPO Change Conference. Register early.

Reservations must be made directly with The Mills House Hotel, by phone, 1-800-874-9600. Please mention you are with the HPO Change Conference to receive the $101 government rate.

All Hotel reservations must be made by Sunday, February 1, 2004 or the government rate won’t be guaranteed. If you are unable to secure space at The Mills House, there is alternative housing available at The Elliot House Inn directly across the street. The Elliott House Inn will honor the government rate and can be reached by calling l-843-723-1855. After Feb 1, 2004 rooms may be still be available, but you'll have to check (updated 2/12/2004)

Directions/Transportation: From the airport: Take I-26 to downtown Charleston and exit at Meeting Street. The hotel is located at ll5 Meeting Street. Driving: U.S. Rt. 17 either from the north or south intersects with Meeting Street. The hotel is located at ll5 Meeting Street.

There are no shuttles operated by The Mills House, however a taxi from the airport to the hotel is approximately $25. There are also several shuttle companies operating at the Charleston airport.

Climate:

The Charleston spring season is a special time for a visit. The temperature in March ranges from 69 to 48 degrees. A light jacket or sweater is appropriate for the evening. While restaurants do not require ties for the gentlemen, a collared shirt is recommended. For the conference sessions, business casual (collared shirts without ties) will be fine.
