Gerry Brokaw Receives 2005 NASA Public Service Medal

CCHPO’s Gerry Brokaw Receives NASA Public Service Medal (Charlottesville, VA) The Commonwealth Centers for High Performance Organizations today announced that Gerry Brokaw a CCHPO Principal and President of the Charleston Center for High Performance Organizations, LLC, was awarded the 2005 National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) Public Service Medal at an awards ceremony on May 24, 2005.

The NASA Public Service medal is the highest-level award available to a non-NASA employee and is granted for exceptional contributions to the mission of NASA.

Brokaw has been working with the NASA Dryden Flight Research Center (DFRC) in support of their effort to improve performance in all aspects of their operations. He has been heavily involved in executive coaching, strategic planning, training and development.

Kevin Petersen, the DFRC Director explained in his letter: “I am especially pleased to announce that you have been selected to receive the NASA Public Service Medal. You have made a real difference at Dryden and I am proud of your accomplishments. I would also like to relay the personal congratulations and appreciation of the NASA Administrator for your exemplary work, which has earned you this honor.”

The citation reads, “For exceptional contributions to continuous improvement in the performance and effectiveness of the Dryden Flight Research Center and its mission for NASA.”

The medal ceremony was re-created during the 2006 CCHPO Performance Improvement Conference in San Diego, CA.
