The Conference will be held April 10-13, 2007 in Charlottesville, VA at the University of Virginia’s Darden School of Business; it will start at 1 PM Tuesday and end after lunch on Friday. The number of conference participants will be limited to 125 attendees based on conference facilities and meeting room size, so register early to ensure your participation; see registration details, below.

ü Real stories of local and federal government improvement journeys with dedicated interaction time
ü How to program and build a successful “change function” in your organization
ü Senior Executive panel and discussions
ü Emphasis on building a ‘sensing mechanism’ for organizational performance improvement
ü Methods for working with groups other than the senior team
ü Understanding what needs to happen at each level of the organization
ü Managing the “Human Side of Change” using CCHPO’s strategic partner ProSci’s models and methods (Jeff Hiatt)
ü Understanding the distinctions between leadership and management in today’s organizations (James Colvard)
ü HPO Diagnostic Change Model (DCM) updates
ü Determining the fit of New Business Creation concepts to government services (Richard Leifer)
The Conference format provides:

The current team of conference chairs include: Phil Harnden (CCHPO), Tony Gardner (Cooper Center and CCHPO), Wayne Sommer (ICMA), and Deborah Roberts (Cooper Center), Sandy Bradley (NAVAIR), Sean O’Leary (NAVAIR North Island), John Mullins (recently of the EPA Inspector General’s Office), and Susan Miller (recently retired from NASA) are the current conference planning committee members. Please note that this is intended to be a working seminar and all participants are expected to participate in the working sessions! You are also encouraged to bring materials and examples to share with other conference participants in the “Community Room.”

Conference Registration Fees (including all meals):
ü Early registration is available at $1075 per person through February 17th, 2007.
ü Normal registration fee is $1200 per person; presenters selected by the conference chairs will receive a 15% discount to $1020 for normal registration and $900 for early bird registrations (no more than two speaker discounts per topic).
ü For those only able to attend two days, the registration fee will be $950
ü Groups of 3 or more from the same organization receive a 15% a discount depending on when they register (normal or early bird); contact the conference chairs for additional information.
ü Multiple discounts can be discussed with Tony Gardner
The registration fee includes all sessions, materials, and meals from Tuesday dinner through lunch on Friday and includes a special late afternoon trip to Monticello. Note that the registration fee does not include housing; a block of 80 rooms has been set-aside at the Darden School of Business, at the federal government conference per diem rate of $105 per night, including tax, on a first come basis. There are also hotels in the area; some will require you to have transportation to the conference site -- see the information below for details.
